1 Day Diani Safari to Shimba Hills National Reserve
You will be picked from your hotel by our professional driver guide by around 6.30 am and drive through Digo homesteads (local Coastal tribes people) and coconut plantations to Shimba Hills National Reserve arriving at around 7.20 am. Embark on a game drive looking for animals such as the elephant, the gazelle, the zebra, the buffalo, the giraffe, the sable antelope among other animals. You will have a chance to visit the view point where you will see the beautiful panorama of Shimba Hills as well as the Indian Ocean and afterwards walk down to the Sheldrick Waterfalls at 10.00 am escorted by a game ranger.
Physical attractions in Shimba Hills include: Casuarina Forests, Marere Dam (a water hole where animals come to drink water), Sheldrick Waterfalls. Animals that can be seen while on this safari include elephants, buffalos, giraffes, impalas, hartebeest, rare leopards, black and white monkeys, attractive sable antelopes, and roan antelopes and different bird species including tropical guinea fowls, fish eagles, falcons and weaver birds among others.
Drive to the Shimba Hills Lodge with a short game drive en route for lunch (one of the tree top hotels at the coast region where you have a chance to see animals at the water hole). After lunch drive back to the park for another game drive for a last chance to see more animals. Drive back to Diani Beach arriving in the early evening.
